Our Mission.
The Algoma Veterans Association (AVA) is a not-for-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to supporting veterans in Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma region. Founded and led by veterans, our mission is to assist fellow service members in navigating the challenges of transitioning to civilian life, addressing both visible and invisible wounds of service.
Peer Support
Fostering a community where veterans support one another through shared experiences, camaraderie, and understanding.
Community Engagement
Organizing events like the annual Red Friday Golf Tournament to raise funds and awareness, while strengthening ties between veterans and the broader community.
Advocacy and Assistance
Providing guidance and resources to help veterans access benefits, healthcare, and other essential services.
